The Seltzer Family coat of arms

The Seltzer coat of arms hereby illustrated is officially documented in Rietstaps Armorial General. The original description of the arms (shield) is as follows:

'Divise en chev. de sa, sur azure, au chev. d'or, br. sur la division: l'azur ch., don' baril couche d'or, soutenant une aigle due meme.'
When translated, the blazon also describes the original colors of the Seltzer arms as:
'Divided chevron-wise black and blue; a gold chevron placed over the division line; the blue charged with a gold barrel lying on its side with a gold eagle standing on it.'
Above the shield and helmet is the crest which is described as:
'The barrel and the eagle of the shield between two gold elephant trunks.'"
