With informative and detailed replies from S. Bowen.
PS -- I originally was thinking in terms of N64. But now the Xbox looks good, and there's also Playstation II and GameCube. It really doesn't matter what system the game is made for, so long as it's powerful enough to handle this kind of detail.
Mobile Suit One:
Name -- Leo
Armament -- machine gun, 1 laser on each shoulder, beam sword (a very useful weapon in close combat)
Armor -- weak
Air speed -- slow
Even though the Leo does not have strong armor, it still is a mobile suit with a huge machine gun that shoots many bullets, so it can rip any metal in two hours. It can be used in space and in the sky, but in the sky, it is slow. The lasers can blow up buildings.
Mobile Suit Two:
Name -- Ares
Armament -- 20 missiles, machine gun
Armor -- medium
Air speed -- medium
The Ares can do more damage than the Leo. As both have feet to go on any terrain, the Ares was given more armor than the Leo. (The Ares is an upgrade). It is faster in air than the Leo, has more fire power with the missiles. But it does not stand a chance in space because it was not built for there.
Mobile Suit Three:
Name -- Talgease
Armament -- beam sword, beam cannon attached to arm
Armor -- strong
Air speed -- deadly fast
The Talease is the strongest yet. I can use the beam canon to blast 20 Ares in one shot. The beam sword is strong enough to chop anything in two. The Talgease can go in space.
Mobile Suit Four:
Name -- Gundam 01
Armament -- beam canon, beam sword, machine guns on head
Armor -- strong
Air speed -- deadly fast, except when in battle mode; then it's just fast, not deadly fast
This Gundam can turn into a plane, so it can go to the same speed as the Talgease. In plane mode, it can't shoot at all. In battle mode, it's deadly. It could take on the Talgease and probably win. This beam canon on this mobile suit can blow 60 Ares (since mobile suits are about as big as a 20 or 50 story building, that is devastating). The machine guns on the head can take out 6 mountains at the same time. It has enough fire power to attack a base by itself. Like all the other Gundams and the Leo, it can go in space.
Mobile Suit Five:
Name -- Gundam 02, AKA Deathscythe
Armament -- beam canon on arm can be used as a missile that can drill an enemy through the middle and come back on the arm; machine guns on head; beam scythe
Armor -- strong
Air speed -- fast
This Gundam is hard to damage with all that armament. The beam canon on the arm may be deadly, but when it's shot like a missile, you will get drilled though the middle. The beam scythe can slice anything in two.
Mobile Suit Six:
Name -- Gundam 03 AKA Heavyarms
Armament -- one gatling arm; one blade; 100 missiles; two gatling guns in the chest; beam sword under arm
Armor: strong
Air speed: fast
Gundam 03's strength is far range battle. If the gatling arm runs out of amo, it can detach and the regular arm can come off to reveal a beam sword. When you take out the beam sword, the arm will come back on (Hey, you can't just let a good arm go to waste.) The other arm has a metal blade that comes out of the side of the arm. The 100 missiles can blow up half of a base when shot at once.
Mobile Suit Seven:
Name -- Gundam 04, AKA Sandrock
Armament -- 2 blades
Armor -- strong
Air speed -- fast
This Gundam can only fight at close range. The two blades can chop anything up, but it has to get close to do it.
Mobile Suit Eight:
Name -- Gundam 05, AKA Nataku (but the engineers call it the Shenlong)
Armament -- flame throwers, 2 ended beam trident; two machine guns on head, both arms can extend and that's deadly; something comes out of the neck and fires beam cannon shots
Armor -- strong
Air speed -- fast
This baby's flame thrower really packs a punch that can melt any metal. The huge beam trident(which has 2 ends with 3 points) can make two Leos blow at once.
Mobile Suit nine:
Name -- V8 (actually called the "Vayeight
Armament -- huge beam canon
Armor -- super strong
Air speed -- fast
The beam canon on this monster can blow 20 bases in one blast.
Mobile Suit ten:
Name -- Mercurius
Armament -- energy shield, beam sword attached to regular shield
Armor -- super strong
Air speed -- fast
If you beat Mercurius or the V8, you earn the ship you beat, and that would test your skill. The Mercurius has an energy shield that can block the V8's beam canon blast. The energy shield is made by 20 balls that follow it around and stay in front of it. When the pilot presses the button that activates the shield, the balls shoot energy to the middle which makes the shield online. The regular shields middle hole acts like a beam sword. If the Mercurius and the V8 did a battle, the one with the more experienced pilot would win.
Mobile Suit eleven:
Name -- Taurus
Armament -- beam canon, in plane mode (when it looks like a plane) it has a laser gun on its top so it can do a very speedy attack but not end up doing such a huge explosion that it would destroy the Mercurius' shield
Armor -- medium
Air speed -- fast
This mobile suit caught us by surprise. It's meant for space, like the Leo, and it's also has the same armor as the Ares. The beam canon is useful for destroying gundams. If we found out about this sooner, we would have put it right under Leo.
Mobile Suit twelve:
Name -- Virgo
Armament -- beam canon attached to arm, energy shield
Armor -- medium
Air speed -- fast
Very little is known about this mobile suit, only that it was just made, it has strong fire power, and if it had a battle with a Taurus it would win without a problem. The computer is the only one that can use this. The energy shield on this is weaker than on the Mercurius. And it's so weak though that a Gundam's weakest attack could blast it away. The only mobile suits' attacks that don't affect that energy shield are the Leo's, the Ares', and the Taurus'.
Mobile Suit thirteen:
Name -- Eppion
Armament -- beam sword attached to arm, electrically charged metal whip
Armor -- super super strong
Air speed -- deadly fast
Eppion is very seldom used by anyone. It can toy with pilot's mind so he will attack anything. It ends up making his experience a whole lot stronger. Eppion and Wing Zero can only be used in multi-player.
Mobile Suit fourteen:
Name -- Wing Zero
Armament -- very strong beam canon, beam sword, shield attached to arm that can extend, beam canon in front when it looks like a plane
Armor -- super super strong
Air speed -- deadly fast (plane mode usually used for travel or to make the target harder to hit)
Wing Zero can match the Eppion in every way. It even toys with the pilot's mind in the same way. Wing Zero and Eppion can only be used in multiplayer.
New Technology:
Name: Mobile dolls. The Mobile dolls (= Mobile suits without human pilots) can be in the Leos or Ares or Taurus. They react faster than people when shot at. There are more people pilots than mobile dolls, and the mobile dolls can't get away when attacked at close range.
One way to get things a little hotter is to make Bosses in every level ending.
More suggestions:
Strategy ideas for this mission.
1. This idea is kind of a little crazy, but it might work. Have your mobile suit and your cover of 1000 Tauruses. Then end up attacking the Wing Zero with your attack force. Once you destroy the Wing Zero, have your game pause so you can have a thousand more Tauruses come in. Then aim for the Eppion. Be careful. As soon as you destroy the Eppion, the first shot from Barge will go. Then you have to dodge that blast, then you have 5 minutes to destroy Barge. As soon as the Eppion is destroyed (which could take a couple minutes), then get the game paused again and get ten more groups of backup support. Have your backup take care of the enemy's ships while you head towards that crazy Barge. At this point you should have 10 seconds left to destroy a certain point which you have to shoot to a whole lot of spots to find the certain point, and pray that you hit the right point.
2. Have you controlling the Gundam 01 and attack with everything you can muster. Once you end up reaching that no good Wing Zero, try to take it out fast and hard. Then end up having one half of your backup that has remained go straight towards the Eppion, and it might be able to destroy it. Then have the rest and your Gundam go straight toward that no-good Barge. Be careful. There will be enough enemy ships to destroy your backup. And the defense guns will end up getting any remnants and you and that is a little bit of a problem. Then use your beam cannon and destroy every spot that you see. And that should take you less than four minutes.
Second suggested mission
You have an entire fleet of backup. Your mobile suit -- whatever you have (if you use a Gundam, you'll have the other four; and even if you don't, you'll still have Gundam backup). The enemy will be still too overwhelming for your backup to take on without you helping out. The mobile dolls are stronger and faster than ever. The mobile suit pilots you are going to face are going to be more experienced and smarter than the usual(and the reaction is sooner too). You have to destroy every enemy mobile suit, and then head straight toward the ship called The Libra, which is what you have to attack with every ounce of strength you have.

I read your Gundam game wish list page. Very nice, I always thought that a modern gundam game would be best in the same type of format as Jedi Power battles. Rescale the scenery, Leos instead of battle droids, Some really powerful Ballistics and you have your self a cracking game.
I did get the impression from your article that you do not know of any currently in existence.
And if you know of anyone involved in developing videogames who might be interested in doing one based on Gundam
There are however several already available for the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). These games are also available in an emulator format for the PC. If you have not played these Games I can email them with an emulator to you or send you a link to a site where they are available for download.
These Games are listed Below:
Endless duel, this is a street fighter style game and is probably the best one currently available. Units include Gundams 01 to 05 Talgesse, Veyeate, Mercureus, Talgeese, Epyon and Wing zero. (Screen shot below) It's a bad shot and doesn't really do the game justice. File size 1.16 Mb zipped, emulator 324k zipped
And there are over 10 others of which I have nine (some are games containing one or two gundam characters but are still fun.) all of the gundam games I know of are available on this one emulator.
Most are Japanese and the words are in Japanese but this is usually only a very small problem.
If you are a new gundam fan then you may not know that there are Gundam series other than Gundam wing. some of the games are based on those such as G-Gundam but endless duel is based on Gundam wing.
Hope to hear from you soon

I will send an emulator with endless duel, V-Gundam and G-Gundam in
a
separate email.
I hope someone will turn your suggestions into a game.
You probably didn't hear about the games because they are only available
in
Japan. The text is all in Japanese but thankfully they are still really
good
games. As far as I can tell the emulator games are soundless but you
can
have winamp or windows media player open at the same time to provide
some
music.
I think a Jedi power battles style game would suit combat with the Leo,
Aries, Taurus and Mobil suits etc. An arena similar to tecken may suit
Gundam versus gundam battles. If you have not played Jedi power Battles
then
I recommend you do so. The parallels with Gundam are quite strong i.e.
Beam
sabers - light sabers, Buster rifles-Blaster rifles etc If you do JPB
them
you can almost see gundams in place of the Jedi and Leos in place of
the
droids. rescale the scenery a bit and you may have a cracking game
on your
hands.
My PS / N64 Gundam Game Suggestion in detail:
I would have the player controlling either a single
gundam type Mobil
suit or a group of Leos, Aries or tores depending on the mission setting
(ground, airborne or space). Gundams would have superior speed health
and
armor to the smaller suits. Where a gundam would receive a health bonus
groups of suits would receive an extra suit.
The same type of blocking mechanism would be good
except that where as
the jedi deflect with their sabers the Gundams would just absorb the
shots
with their shields. Instead of Running the suits would activate their
boosters to accelerate. A nice feature would be a window with pilots
in the
corner. Enemy Leo pilots could say that famous line "ARRRRRGH it's
a
Gundam!!!" When you encounter them and utter some last words a few
second
later when you destroy them. This would be the same type of window
used in
star lancer.
Moves would be beam saber and gun based depending
on the suit. In
addition a power bar would allow a limited amount of special moves
like the
force moves in Jedi power battles or the specials in Endless duel.
Special
moves would be Mercurius shields, aries rockets, Sandrock throw heat
blades
etc.(i.e. all of the most devastating moves). As a special bonus Gundam
type
suits could temporarily pick up a few support troops which would vary
depending on the gundam. Support troops may include the Middle East
corps
and Sanc kingdom custom Torres suits.
In my opinion it may be a good Idea to contact the developers of Jedi
power
battles and see if they might be interested in producing a gundam game
using
parts of the JPB code or using a similar style. The JPB game
was developed
by LucasArts and their creations are some of the best around.

I have several more games for the emulator and there is an Ok shock machine game on the www.cartoonnetwork.com website which you can play online (it is not on the Uk site so you may not have seen it especially if you are in Britain)
I have a 3D RPG
More fighting games
oh and a personal fave of mine which is not really a Gundam Game but is Has some gundam characters which is a platformer similar to sonic the hedgehog.
There are gundam Games which I do not have really old ones for systems that were out before I was born and there was one released for the saga Saturn in Japan (and maybe the US) Which country are you in?
I have some win amp skins about 2.5 Mb
I have MP3s of just communication, rhythm emotion Wight reflections and assorted other gundam songs. (typically around 5 Mb each)
I have a .mov file of a sequence from the first gundam wing episodes (about 20 seconds 7 Mb)
I have another animation which includes many major scenes from the series (is about 6 mins long 10 Mb)
Oh and a .rm clip from one of the other Gundam shows.

Since I last emailed you have become aware of at least five games in existence on the playstation. I don't know which countries they are in but they look ok I haven't played them my self. They aren't Gundam wing Games but feature Gundams from other gundam series that I have not seen. i.e. series not featuring Hero Yue & co. To my knowledge these games are not available for the PC. also I know of a Gundam patch for the starcraft game Called gundam century I do not have it my self as it requires starcraft to run and I don't have starcraft. It basically converts the terrains and units into a format based on Gundam (although I'm not entirely sure which series.) it is available from http://gundamcentury.rtsfan.com/gundamcentury-whatis.htm
I see from your site that you like starcraft so this may be a really good thing for you.
Also there is a game called Zeta gundam for the Saturn but I here that
is isn't very good.
